I’m Dr. Karson Mui — a sports chiropractor and photographer based just outside of Boston. For over a decade, I’ve worked inside professional sports, Olympic qualifying events, and high-risk live productions, providing medical coverage for elite athletes while documenting the moments unfolding around me.

My first introduction to sports photojournalism came while working medical on the sidelines for the professional rugby team New England Free Jacks, when the organization needed additional photographers during matches. What started as capturing moments between medical responsibilities quickly evolved into a passion for visual storytelling. Since then, I’ve grown into a contracted photojournalist for ZUMA Press and have completed freelance photography work for USCHO.com.

Working medical gives me a perspective few photographers experience. I understand the mindset of athletes, the emotion behind competition, and the intensity surrounding the biggest moments. From professional rugby and hockey to action sports and international events, my work blends medicine, movement, and storytelling to create imagery that feels cinematic, authentic, and alive.
